Meet Pushpa
Pushpa is a Registered Dietitian who graduated from University of Illinois, Chicago. Over the last 35 years she has provided nutrition counseling to patients in many settings including dialysis units, hospitals and outpatient centers. She advocates hollistic health, individualized meal planning, moderation in intake of food and mindful eating.
Many studies show that vegetarian proteins are better than animal protein for many of the diseases and being a Vegetarian herself she can help in choosing the right combination of foods to give you optimum nutrition if you are Vegetarian.
Pushpa is also a Certified Yoga teacher, Ayurvedic Health educator and Ayurveda Practitioner. Digestion is a very important part of good health. Its not only what you eat but also what you digest and eliminate that help you maintain good health. Incorporating some of the principles of Ayurveda and Yoga into her nutrition practice gives a more holistic approach to her counseling.
She has co-authored 2 books, "A Primer on Ayurveda - A Practical guide for personalized nutrition" (Revised Edition 2020) and "Ayurveda and Yoga: A Path to health and healing! - Consumer Edition 2020. Now available on Amazon.
She is also a speaker and has presented at several conferences on the value of integrating Ayurveda with Modern Medicine for better outcomes in chronic illness. She is on the faculty of Ananda Ayurveda Academy in Willowbrook, IL.
